Foreign language study (native fluency in Spanish), self-taught in Urdu, some knowledge of Dutch, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Gujarati, Punjabi. Trying Arabic but not very good at it.

Last movie I went to was Fahrenheit 9-11. Next to last was Sister Act II. I'm obviously not much of a movie person!

Some late 60's stuff, but the best music is from the 40's. I played the organ professionally at one time, and can still play Glenn Miller stuff for hours on end. Anything Puerto Rican (merengue, salsa) gets me dancing.

History, biography, politics. Am accumulating a library of 100 books I will never give away. Among those books are: Autobiography of Malcolm X, Uris' QB VII, Michener's Hawaii, Michener's Tales of the South Pacific, Michener's The Covenant, Love For Live (about Van Gogh).

Completing a triathlon for Leukemia/Lymphoma Team in Training four years after finishing chemotherapy for Lymphoma. Second proudest: Being invited to compete in the Colombian National Masters Track Champiionship as a visiting athlete from Puerto Rico - I was the first non-Colombian ever invited to compete. (I could not compete because I ended up with cancer but the invitation stands and I can't wait to get back there and take them up on it!)

I was at a national track meet in Colombia and forgot how to speak English when asked to do some translation for somebody. Another of the athletes yelled at me, "Reboot! Reboot!" I smacked my head and then the English came back to me.

Have been against all wars since I was an Vietnam protestor in the 60's. Was against the Iraq occupation since before it started and won't be happy until certain members of the current administration are in orange jumpsuits. I always wanted to run track but they had no girls' team in high school. Finally got to compete in NCAA track at age 49 as a community college student - still have one more year of eligibility, which I plan to use when I turn 70. My first time competing in Masters track was when I was 35. My goal is to complete a Heptathlon at the World games, either in 2009 (Helsinki) or 2011 (Sacramento). I compete for Puerto Rico in international competition.
