Ivers, Hi Crewsweeper I'm in the Philadelphia area so I am a member at one of the clusbs on Boathouse Row, The Fairmount Rowing Association. Yes, I erg too, in fact my daughter and I will both be racing at the C.R.A.S.H. Bs in Boston this weekend - We'll see how that goes!
Thank you for your encouragement. I never got into rowing, as a sport. My father, his father, and many of his relatives were fishermen in the Gulf of Maine. As a kid I rowed a "punt", and tried to avoid the stigma of "Highlander", by "feathering" the oars, and bring them back, barely skimming the water's surface.
Competitive Marathon Rowing must demand great stamina. I envy you, although I doubt that (even at 57), I would have considered taking it up.
