Anchor leg on mile relay, dual meet in 1967: Trinity College vs. Coast Guard Academy. The great Gary Paloulis (Coast Guard) took the baton 1 foot behind me and we ran the quarter mile in 49.0, over a second faster than I ever ran before or after. He finished 1 foot behind me. This was the deciding event for the meet.
