The most scenic Half-Marathon you'll ever run! Starts at 7:00am at UBC Thunderbird Arena. Start on Thunderbird (between East Mall and Wesbrook Mall) and head West to East Mall. Turn left into north bound lanes onto East Mall to W 16th Ave. Turn left from East Mall into west bound lanes on W 16th Ave. From W 16th Ave, turn left into south bound lanes on Wesbrook Mall. On Wesbrook Mall, turn left onto Thunderbird, continue through the start line to East Mall. Turn left into far lanes (south bound lanes) on East Mall, towards W 16th Ave. At W 16th Ave, turn right into far west bound lanes, heading downhill to Marine Drive. Bear left on ramp to Marine Drive in the north bound lanes. Continue to Wesbrook Mall, turn around centre island to south bound lanes. Follow Marine Drive along the side of campus to Chancellor intersection. Bear left down Marine drive hill to Spanish Banks.
Then you follow Marine Drive past Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, up to W 4th Ave. Follow W 4th Ave in the two curbside west bound lanes, turning left onto Highbury heading north. From Highbury, turn right onto Point Grey Road, turning into Cornwall and bearing left over the Burrard Bridge in the two west side lanes.
Head north in the south bound lanes, bearing left on Pacific Ave. In both east bound lanes, you then head west, following the road onto Beach Ave, into Stanley Park and the finish line. See map for details, and elevation profile. Great finisher medals and technical shirts for all Half-Marathoners!
5k Course
Start at 9:00am. Start on Stanley Park Drive — at the Stanley Park Fish House, heading from Lagoon Drive to the path at North Lagoon Drive. Turn right onto the path, following it to Lost Lagoon. Then circle Lost Lagoon, returning to Ceperley Field through the tunnel under Stanley Park Drive. Follow the path towards Second Beach Pool then turn East onto the Seawall.
You then head out past English Bay Beach House, to the Inukshuk, where you will turn up to Beach Ave and join in with the Half-Marathoners finishing on the road. See map for details. The 5k course is not chip timed and is open to runners and walkers alike.
