Having an old teammate tell me at a reunion that he was coaching high school football and I was the example he gave to his teams about what they should aspire to be as an athlete. I played whatever position the coaches wanted me to play, never complained and loved competing and always knew that it was always a game. And that I respected my competition and never lost my cool.

My first varsity play. Ball on our own Two yard line. My foot at the back of the end zone. I punted the highest kick the radio announcer said he ever saw. It landed on our 10 yard line. They were offside and I got to punt again. This time I got it to our 45.
I hated running, I was a field guy. In high school I was running 1/4 miles with the runners one day and the coach timed me at 58 seconds. He said he was going to make me a quarter miler and I told him that I had cut the corner on the back of the track [I hadn't] so he made me run two more miles, but didn't make me a runner.

Professional Artist- metal sculptor/jeweler.
I did a seminar about life fitness and realized I had been saying about myself "I used to be an athlete" I got from the seminar that once you are an athlete you always are, just like if you are an artist, you always are. I just got that I had been out of training for 38 years. Now I'm back in training. I am interested in any masters decathlons in Texas or close.
