Is the coach a master(s)?

I've got a buddy named Dennis. Great guy. He has been racing triathlons and running races for a long time. He is in his 60s now and I saw him at a race on July 4th.
We started talking about training and racing as a master and how that is different from our younger days. We also talked about how important it is to choose a coach who understands the nuances in coaching as that athlete gets further into Masters status.

Cross training

I get asked about cross training with some frequency. As we cross 40 and continue to grow older, it is more important to consider recovery for ourselves. And how do we get that recovery and still get in a workout? This is where cross training can be very useful.
