Shuffleboard
Posted On 02/10/2008 19:17:49 by wilburestes

Hey! I just got here. Trainwater told me about this site. I once was a shuffler, but am now too old to play ~ ~ no physical stamina. However, I still know the game, and its great benefits. Tournament Play is a physical challenge. Winning play is a a mental, and a physical challenge. Losing is less physically challenging (you get to "sit out", and watch), but for those who want to be "The Best", losing is a mental challenge. You try to determine what went wrong. Usually you will determine that a lack of discipline caused your loss; you tried to do what you did not need to do, or failed to try to do what you should have done.

For the dedicated shuffler, losing creates sleepless nights.

I skied in competition when younger, and started playing shuffleboard when I was 54, and have found nothing as exciting, and challenging as Tournament Shuffleboard. I played for nearly thirty years, before life caught up with me.

I met many people that I would never met otherwise, and became good friends with many. I am sure that (now Trainwater has brought this site to shufflers attention) you will have the opportunity to learn that shuffleboard is not the simple, mindless game you think it is.

Hi All,

greetings from Germany. We' re just about to develop Shuffleboard over here. The good thing about it is: as no one knows about Shuffleboard, there's no image yet and therefore the true spirit and sense of the game can appear. And I tell you something: especially the kids love it.
