At 56 years old I am about to under take an endevor someone over thirty probably should not attempt!   I am going to learn how to skate board.   My son dared me to learn something new,  and this is what I've chosen.   Now I am not a sedentary person by any means.  I run marathons,  having completed two marathons in the last three months.  I lift weights,  and participate in triathlons.   So I am physically fit.   However,  I have never been up on a skate board.   We are going out this weekend to buy the necessary equipment,  and then it's on to lessons from a professional.   Am I nuts?   Should I actually attempt this???  Is there anyone else out there in their fifties or older who can give me some advice?   Thanks for your thoughts...

You only get to live once. Go for it, lots of padding thou and helmit. Once you get the hang of it I bet you'll be hooked. I roller blade, which is a little different for sure, but I will never give it up. Now you have me thinking about it, damn. Have a great time, and you get to spend it with your kid how much better can it get.
