my little story

i competed in track and field when i was in highschool  threw the javelin pb of 205 feet no meters back then , ran the 440 yard dash and the 880 yard run and ocassional mile , got to compete against and with some of the best there was back then , Marty Liquori, Steve Prefontaine and my high school team mate  Maurice Peoples, but then there was things that had to be done a bit more important than my passion  for track and field but lets not cry over spilled milk, when i turned 50 and then when my granddaughter was born in 2003 my wife said , " i guess you can sit back and relax cause youtr getting to be over the hill especially when i suffered a knee injury during hunting season which required surgery , acl replacement and torn meniscus, when i was told you" can't" do things like you did before i just had to proove them wrong , last year after undergoing catarct surgery and lense replacements in both eyes i attained my highest national masters ranking with a 11th in the mens 55-59 hammer throw it lasted several weeks and finally ended up 25th in the nation and did pretty well in the javelin and discus also, this year started off real bad with an upper resperatory infection i'm still battling withand i was sidelined with a bad second degree chemical burn work related which laid me up for a month , but i still won't quit , i'll give it my best shot and just do my best
